Detailed and insightful economic assessment of the Swindon and Wiltshire economy, which has helped to inform the economic growth priorities of the LEP and investment plans for the next 10-15 years.

Rubicon Regeneration, in partnership with Red Box Research, was commissioned to develop the Local Economic Assessment, with the objective of providing a better understanding of the Swindon and Wiltshire economy and its component parts to help plan and shape economic development activities as well as prioritisation of resources.

Our work included

The LEA is set out in relation to three broad themes:

  • Business and enterprise
  • People and skills
  • Place and property

The LEP included a detailed benchmarking analysis to compare the local economy with neighbours primarily in central southern England.

Outcome

Besides playing a role in shaping the Economic Strategy for the area, the analysis and prioritisation has informed a number of funding bids.
