Rural Regeneration……..West Sussex LEADER

South Downs National ParkIn partnership with Nairne Ltd, we’ve been appointed to work with West Sussex County Council and partners to develop the two Local Development Strategies to support applications for RDPE Leader funding for 2015-2020.LEADER funding has provided more than £3m worth of grants to rural businesses and community groups in the Sussex Downs & Low Weald and Three Harbours & Coastal Plain LEADER areas. The grants supported a wide range of projects including:

  • Purchase of equipment and development of premises to support business growth;
  • Farm diversification and modernisation;
  • Community shops and other facilities.

The 2 existing LEADER groups will be bidding to Defra for more funding for 2015-20 to continue the good work. They also plan to increase the area covered by LEADER to include all of rural West Sussex and Lewes District.
