Preparing an Economic Blueprint for the Eastbourne Hailsham sub region

Momentum, the Eastbourne regeneration agency in partnership with the public agencies, Tourism South East and Eastbourne Strategic Partnership, commissioned Rubicon Regeneration to prepare an Economic Blueprint for the Eastbourne Hailsham sub region. The objective was to set out a vision and economic strategy for the area including recommendations as to how the area can act as a significant contributor to the sustainable economic growth of East Sussex, the coastal strip and the broader region.

Our work included

The focus of our approach was to build consensus through a robust, evidence-based approach to ensure common understanding of the issues, problems and opportunities facing the area. The work included a ‘deep-dive’ to build a robust evidence base about the economy of the area, including an analysis into the main drivers of economic prosperity:

  • Employment
  • Enterprise
  • Innovation and Creativity
  • Skills
  • Competitiveness
  • Infrastructure

 

Outcome

The work included extensive engagement and consultation using a variety of techniques, which provided an important contribution to the emerging vision for the area. The outcome was a realistic and practical Strategy and Action Plan for the area, with recommendations on a streamlined delivery structure to drive forward the strategy and action plan.
