Our work included

Caldicot Castle and Country Park already provides an important heritage and recreation site, which combines the historic castle with a 55 acre country park providing a haven for wildlife and an attractive environment for outdoor activities.

We were part of the team led by PSCL commissioned to prepare a visitor management plan for the attraction. The work included carrying out a detailed audit and assessment of the current visitor experience. We also made recommendations for an integrated management strategy for the castle, including identifying a number of costed transformational projects.

Outcome

Many of these have already been implemented, including making the attraction a free facility, which has significantly boosted visitor (and revenue) for the castle and country park.
