Rubicon Regeneration has been an Economic Adviser for both Councils in preparing growth strategies, setting out an approach and priority actions that both local districts will take to enable the growth of the local economies. In particular, the Growth Strategy looked at how the Councils could secure revenue streams from the various new funding mechanisms introduced by the Coalition Government.

The action plan sets out a proactive programme to address a number of priorities, including:

• meeting challenging housing delivery targets to meet population and housing projection growth levels;
• providing more local jobs to address high levels of out-commuting;
• supporting the local economy by increasing the range of higher skilled jobs available locally;
• unlocking development and bring forward strategic and major sites for development to transform economic prospects;
